A day

I had put a lot of thought into today...what would I love to do?
Put Pax in the stroller and walk and walk, stop at some point drink some water eat something healthy and walk and walk.

I think the hint of crisp, of cool, in the air has me hungry for fall, for outdoors, for energy and exercise.

But instead, home beacons, to do's I don't do because I would rather play chess or go over 3's, sit and drink coffee with John.  I "waste" moments not accomplishing what I "should", a clean house, laundry, ironing, dishes, weeds to do what I MUST, mother, be present, be slow and not impatient, watch and not run.  These moments are fleeting, I don't want to miss one eye contact, joke or conversation.

So today during naps I..

And during awakes I

Today was a good day!

(What the others were doing....)

Crunch berries for dinner

Two movies instead of one and excitement about midnight gator play to keep the boys from sleeping.

3's, respect, Texas preacher, Virginian, Argue, pancakes, lemons, thorns, rbl, jolly rancher, grapefruit spoon, gleeful giggles, surprise diaper, knight shield, 14 or 15, kisses, barefoot, bathroom race, walk, pickup, milk mustache, pencil chew toy, no ice!, Guatemala sb, gluing cleat, 30" tile, packing water and dinner, last minute arrow supplies, no mail, huge fish,

A hundred memories to cherish today, yet it goes so fast our day is hard to recollect, more forgotten then remembered.  To do's were set aside today, just to be present in each moment.

I am blessed.

All I know is....

You are coming home!!!!!!!  Probably already have left Rome.  Oh we are ready.

God has been so faithful, the boys have been such blessings but I am so glad tomorrow night I will get to fall asleep in your arms.

We had an amazing day.  Eve and Sarah played with Pax this morning and put him down for a nap so the boys and I could work on cars, garage, chicks.  Amanda brought yummy oatmeal over for breakfast then she mowed your front yard and side yard so you wouldn't have to do it right when you got back!!!  Then the Pearson's had us over for dinner the boys swam and hit golf balls and played in the drive, Shital held Pax while he slept so I could eat, her and Chris traded off.  It was wonderful.

Bsf starts soon, heard from my leader tonight.

Folding clothes, grading math and heading to sleep.

Praying for your travels love

Goodnight 43 hours and counting

Good day today.  We all looked forward to visiting the Irvin's this afternoon, boys were so excited they were done with school by 11.

They have had such great attitudes and been good sports about helping out their 'ole mom.

(Sorry a little Tex in there, I can't help it, Jude's been Tex for just days now!)

Eve and Sarah are going to come play with Pax tomorrow so I can do some last minute catch up before you get home!

And we will be at Shital's for dinner, tomorrow will be another good day.

Pray for our friends, session 1 is at 3 tomorrow.

Pray for Leah's sister, she just miscarried, I remember how hard that was for us before we had Julian.  She is in Denver so no help is there.

So excited to see you, it will be nice to get to sit by you for our long drive, I might even get to hold your hand -

watch out!

You are loved.

Goodnight

What a day!  You have three amazing sons.  What a blessing they are to me :)

Tonight we walked to the top of the "hill" on Eli and the boys rode their scooters all the way to the church, then they practiced crashing and doing amazing stunt moves into the grass....

we made a double check list for bedtime this morning so tonight they were on top of their responsibilities ;) Jude called it the constitution of bedtime!

It was wonderful seeing you and talking with you today.  I just finished grading and noticed you are on Skype but you should be sleeping, early morning ahead of you!

I love you.

Pax rolled more tonight!

Exhausted

But I love you :)

Goodnight

Boys are reading in their bed.  Pax is sleeping soundly, Dobby, the chicks and hens are all put away for the night, math is graded for tomorrow and it isn't quite 8.

God knew I needed some time tonight I think, to pray, to read.  Zack spoke this morning....he definitely spoke to an adult audience, I found myself praying praying during his storytelling time and during his elaboration on scripture that God would speak to our boys, that they would be protected from what they shouldn't hear. But the scripture, I desire mercy, not sacrifice and his focus on grace were awesome.  He talked about Hosea and his marriage and how we are purchased for good and not for pain.  I prayed and prayed to apply these words well in my life but also that God would use his word to lift the veil on the deception that surrounds us....we are the light!

He also talked about how most of the world isn't going to come to church, therefore we have to go, not to invite them to church, but to love them, serve them and by the grace of God maybe be allowed to talk to them about our savior but maybe not, we shouldn't have an ulterior motive, we should just be the hands and feet of God.  I pray that God will use AWP in this way, will use me and our boys in this way.  I see God using you to do this so often.

Just went up to tuck the boys in, dresser drawers pulled out all the way, dirty Kleenex everywhere, books hidden in brothers bed, mysterious water all over, Julian had hit his knee on brothers bed then flipped over his own bed and hit his knee again, big blue bruise ---

typical night ;)

We miss you, hope today was amazing!

Great Day

When you texted this morning right at wake up time I should have known it would be a remarkable day :)

Pax rolled over tonight, the first time it took him awhile but then one right after another he rolled over 9 times...it was pretty cool to watch him remember each time to move his arm fast so it didn't get stuck...babies are remarkable, God is so evident.

We had pizza tonight of course....we are watching Magic School Bus right now and just finished a Wild Krat for our "movie".  The boys had the chicks upstairs for awhile this afternoon.

Jude said he cleaned up 19 poops! Whew;). They gave two of the chicks a bath....so they are under the heat lamp now drying.....yikes!

Today his hair looked red with the light shining in....he is such a cutie he will be able to pull off any hair color ;)

We love you, we are proud of you, so excited to see Ethiopia through your eyes.  You are missed honey, but your boys have risen to the occasion!

Goodnight

Pax is still restless as he tries to calm in his sleep for the night.  Long day.
During the echo he was holding my hand with  both of his hands and my arm ran down parallel with his body and he grabbed my arm by my elbow with both of his feet.  It reminded me of a Koala bear climbing bamboo ;).

Pax definitely likes what is familiar.  But he was wonderful, no fussing, he has such a calm alert disposition, such a blessing.

Boys played old maid it was old hat for them today.  They were so excited for the road trip that two hours before we were to leave I caught them sitting in the car!

It was such a blessing for Shital to come, did you know that her name is actually supposed to be pronounced "Shee-thal".  So pretty.

Tomorrow will be a calm home day, I think we might need to pick up drawings and get them to Rob but other then that just routine.

I fall asleep just exhausted every night, I am definitely leaving it all on the table.  But each night as I rest God refuels me for the boys and we end up having a really good day.

We miss you so, our hearts and our prayers are with you. We are so glad you were able to go on this trip and can't wait to hear everything.

Love you

Ps 4 Rivers opens in Gainesville soon...boys are still hoping for Texas Roadhouse they really want to play that baseball game ;)

Psalm 139

You have searched me, Lord,
    and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughtsfrom afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
    you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
    and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven togetherin the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
    they would outnumber the grains of sand
    when I awake, I am still with you.

19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
    Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
    your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,
    and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
    I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting.

Goodnight

Tonight Julian was sad that his friend thought he was dull because he didn't want to play he just wanted to read.  I explained that when his friend found a story that he was interested in then he would understand! Then I said I love you and he said I love you "big time"

He said big time :)))

It is 9:30 and pax and I have just gotten to the rocker, the boys haven't left each others side since about 5.

They got an extension cord and took their iPods to the garage to have a sing along. Jack and Walter came down to play, it was a fun filled day.

This was the look on Jude's face when he was talking and listening to you.

Goodnight

So good to hear from you tonight I could tell even the boys were so glad for those few typed lines.  Jude loved his note from uncle Chris ;) what a hoot that kid is.

We delivered the energy calc and put it with the civil dwgs that were already there but the survey wasn't there yet.

P.N. is working with G on a project and found out that you were solo she has a client that needs 2 renovations on his houses here, I told her you would be in touch.

We stopped by d's today so good to see them, the last time was the 4th of July! Seems like forever.

I'm headed to grade papers school with the I family tomorrow :) boys are so excited.

Sleep well so excited for your tomorrow, I think the work they are doing is something we should support in every way possible, so excited to hear your thoughts.

Love you

Goodnight

Oh how I needed you this afternoon and tonight.  You are the wise one, knowing what to do, what to say.

I felt so paralyzed not wanting to offend, judge, step on toes but if I am the only one who can speak truth I must but oh how I wish you were here so I can just turn that responsibility over to you.

Praying for our friends, so thankful for the truth of Gods word.

Thank you

For never giving up
For coming home
For listening
For standing by my side
For holding your tongue
For forgiving me over and over
For patience
For telling me what you need
For telling me when I am wrong
For being someone I can count on
For trying to answer your phone
For morning walks
For family meals
For boys bedtime time
...I know there is more but thank you

IJM Sunday

So glad we made it this morning :)

Goodnight 4

So great to talk with you on the phone.  So glad you saw George today :)!  I hope you are able to see Chyembekezo tomorrow, I miss those boys.  I can't even imagine George in high school!

Sounds like you had a full, eventful day, your voice sounds so very tired on the phone.  I'm glad you are staying with Chris at least I know him and Benah will take care of you!

We had a great day, boy I sometimes wish there was a recorder on the wall!  Tonight Jude listed all the bad things Julian does and Julian listed all of Jude's discipline issues....jumping on the beds were on both lists, spraying chickens (and brother with hose--guess who), wedgies, distracting during school, poking with a pencil, scaring "out of my wits", looking at me with a look "it makes me tremble" it was hilarious although I did a good job of looking very stern!

It was also established that spankings don't hurt ("we figured out a way") good thing they don't get those!

Pax full belly laughed today, I was pretending to pull so hard to help him sit up making a straining noise and then failing to do it and he just started cracking up!  He pulled cow down today in his gym and just started slobbering over the ring very happily.

Last day of summer bowling was today, hard to believe summer is winding down.  I hope you are resting well but just incase I have Skype up :)

I am off to arrange picture and maybe knit, we will see how far I get.

Happy 16th Anniversary, love you so.

Oh so sweet, I love you.

Goodnight2

Goodnight1

We had a good day, boys are off to bed and Pax and I are headed for a bath.  Julian and Jude inspected each others washing job, Jude forgot his hands and Julian his feet, they are a pair :)

Julian and I laughed today I had asked him three times to get in the car, after the third time he got up, turned around and started upstairs.....I just had to crack up and said Julian that is not the car.....even he laughed as he was really oblivious to the fact he had been ignoring me, it didn't register until I started laughing what he was doing and had done....boy do I have to figure out how to get him to tune me back in, whispering, I'm going to try that tomorrow :)

Love these boys, hope you are able to get some rest tonight :)

Wednesday

Boys rocked it this morning!  Math was done by 8:30, dropped off drawings, came home and then headed to bowl @ 10:20.  There were 11 kids bowling so they had so much fun!  Then Cheryl had us over for lunch and playing, came home @2 and everyone rested....one of us still is, guess who????
